Formula 1 gets back to work
After the summer break, Zandvoort hosts the twelfth round of the 2026 championship. The race weekend is scheduled for August 21 to 23, with a Sprint and the Grand Prix on Sunday.
The return will also offer an early read on the work completed during the pause. Teams have had time to analyse the opening races, refine their settings and prepare updates that could change the balance between the leading groups.

Zandvoort remains Verstappen’s home race
The Dutch crowd will naturally be waiting for Max Verstappen. The Red Bull driver won the first three editions held since Zandvoort returned to the calendar. Lando Norris won in 2024, followed by Oscar Piastri in 2025.
The 2026 edition is expected to be the last Dutch Grand Prix on the calendar. For Verstappen and the fans, that gives the weekend a special weight, even though the sporting pressure begins as soon as the lights go out.
The sporting questions at the restart
The second half of the season should clarify the championship picture. Kimi Antonelli leads ahead of Zandvoort, Lewis Hamilton follows in the standings and George Russell remains within reach. Lando Norris’s win in Hungary has nevertheless reopened the discussion at the front.
Zandvoort demands a difficult compromise. The circuit is fast, undulating and difficult for overtaking. Teams will need to balance cornering speed, stability through the banked turns and efficiency in the few places where an attack is possible.
